It seems EA is routing traffic through a firm that protects from DDoS attacks. After passing through the firms filters you get anything from 50-100ms added to your pings. This makes most EA games unplayable in multiplayer, because you have to add on the normal 60-100ms in latency, making EA servers ping at 110-200+ms.
Proof as below:

Trace complete.Your cure is worse than the disease. During the DDoS attacks I could still play with no problem, now your DDoS protection has made most BF4 servers unplayable.
Until this resolves I will in no way spend a single penny on EA multiplayre shooters. End of story.
Actually, I believe the DDOS filter is only applied components that are prone to DDOS, like login an central points in the backend at EA. Your actual game traffic to the game servers (which on PC is not even hosted by EA) does not go through the filter. All in all, the high pings at Prolexic, while troublesome, should not effect your ingame ping.
No, what happens is my Battlelog reports 200-300ms pings on servers that had 50ms pings for months.
Believe it or not I run a NOC, so I have some passing knowledge of networking fundamentals. I have done all the suggested troubleshooting and much more to no avail.
I have a FIOS connection that consistently scores 50MB up/down with no ping loss. I play other multiplayer games and stream content with absolutely no issues. Actually I can have two streams gong in my house and play other, non-EA, multiplayer games with no issues.
This is not the first time this problem has come up and last time it resolved itself with absolutely no action by me, the user.
You can take the worthless, cowardly, and absolutely worst customer service route and blame the consumer, but that isn't gong to score any points with me.
I can reproduce the isolated error on most EA servers all day.
You want to get a funny one though? VI, Violent industries conquest Golmud 24/7 had a ping of 90 before this all started and it still have a ping of 90 right now, no change. One of the handful of servers I get a good ping from.
This is obviously some kind of traffic shaping or capacity issue, so stop blaming the customer and fix it. If you have a BELIEF that there is another IP or other server farms I should be running a ping or a tracert to, then by all means provide those DNS name or IPs or stop trolling my posts with your useless input. I deal in proof and verification, not in, "Blame the customer because I can't figure it out.....duuuurrrrrrp."

Answer HQ is a community based support community. You are not talking to EA but to fellow gamers that are just trying to help. Fellow gamers funnily enough can't diagnose EA's backend network which is why they probably are suggesting fixes on your end.

Well, then make it a sticky and leave it at that. It gets pretty annoying and feels extremely off-putting when people post the same T/S in these threads over and over. Let's use these threads to bring up issues, not beat people over the head with the same T/Sing advice over and over.
Everyone appreciates community help, but no one appreciates a community know it all that feels qualified to speak as if they are an expert on EAs back end.
As of today, the tracert no longer shows the lag, and guess what, I no longer have any problems.
