I like the idea of more dedicated builds - I think it could drastically change the landscape of the game more than having the ability to do little bits of everything.
We had flak damage reduction in BF4 so body armor isn't too far out of the realm of possibility but I too think it could lead to problems down the line (although I really enjoyed it in Firestorm).
I was hesitant when it came to fortifications at first but ended up really enjoying them; I hope they get better transitions and have more variants in BF6

To be fair all classes having an anti-vehicle gadget seems a pretty sensible idea. If you're playing Medic in BFV, for example, you don't really have any gadgets like this (unless you're using the M28 of course).

I love always having a chance to deal some damage to a tank as a medic but with self and auto repair, it's almost pointless.
That said, we could get a real good discussion going on if only supports or the tankers could heal vehicles from the outside

If one feels/thinks the bodyarmor is the main trouble and it should be scrapped, I have alternative balance idea. We could split up ropes and zipline section of assault class and share these items with special forces kit changing the original concept a bit. Much like special forces have type of reconnaissance tools at their fingertips borrowed from recon kit as standalone category.

Just to be clear, I don't think anyone is hating on the body armor idea, it's just something that would be hard to balance. Plates forcing you to go for headshots in Firestorm made perfect sense.
As long as zip-lines can only be deployed facing downward/straight (with the main intention being emergency escape), they would be a pretty cool addition to thr scout/sniper class. I just don't want snipers to be able to easily access strange (read: unintended) vantage points

@ElliotLH if that occurs then the entire paper\rock\scissors balancing goes out the window. I'd rather have an engineer class again and make people make choices on do I take out that BTR or do I revive my teammate, or do I give them ammo. Also if everyone has an anti-vehicle gadget then vehicles are either destroyed in short order or they have to be absolute monsters to compensate which I don't think many players would like.
One exception is an anti-vehicle gadget that works with engineer such as the laser designator. On its own it can only harass a vehicle but do no damage, but in tandem with an engineer it's a game changer.

@ragnarok013 That's a valid point and I do admittedly sometimes not think enough about balance. I just feel so ham-strung playing as medic on vehicle maps in BFV I guess. At least in BF1 I could chuck a light AT grenade at them as I ran away or before I got splatted.
