Battlefield Bad Company 2 Update problem
You will have to run the game as administrator or disable UAC. It's UAC that
blocks certain programs from running but normally it shows a window which allows
you to select continue (as administrator) or cancel.
With MOH this is not the case therefore blocking the program. By running the
game/origin "as administrator" (even though you allready are) the UAC is skipped.
On windows 7 each solution in here should work, on Windows 8 you might not be able
to use the compatibility tab with every exe. In this case try setting properties
(run as) on the other exe of disable UC.
Now you could easiliy right click the exe or shortcut for the game (or Origin client)
and choose run as administrator (as alot would/will suggest), nothing wrong with it,
but you would have to do this everytime when running the game.
Other Solutions:
1. Find the exe of Origin client and set run as administrator in the properties, when
set the client will run the game as administrator too (as origin starts the game's exe
while Origin itself is allready running as administrator)
2. Find the exes of game and set run as administrator in the properties.
3. Disable UAC in windows.
Where are the files:
1. Origin.exe can normally be found in c:\program Files (x86)\Origin (on 32 bits os
there is no (x86) behind program files)
2. The game exe can be found in C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield Bad Company 2
and then
you will find BFBC2game.exe and BFBC2dater.exe
or
Go to folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield Bad Company 2\__Installer\DISK1
and use autorun.exe and (or easetup.exe when installing) as administrator
What to do with the exe:
Right click the exe, choose properties, click the compatibility tab, enable run as
administrator at the bottom and click ok.
How to disable UAC:
Be shure you know what it means it you want to go this way. I personally always disable
this right after I install my OS but I know what it does and I do not need it.
Go to Control Panel\User Accounts and Family Safety\User Accounts and click Change User
Account Control Settings.
Take the "fader" all the way down and click ok. Be advised, I am not responsible for
