Battlefield session lost (UDP 3659) after no updates

Was playing BF4 with no problems the day before, logged in the next day and was pleasantly greeted by this messages:

Game disconnected: Client closed down connection. Check your network connection and make sure that port 3659 (UDP) is open. [Battlelog]

ERROR INFORMATION: You have lost the connection to the session. [BF4 In-Game]

So I "Repaired" the game on Origin

Restarted my router

Reinstalled PunkBuster

Deleted all %temp% files

Unlocked Win7 firewall ports:

     TCP: 80, 443, 9988, 20000-20100, 22990, 17502, 42127

     UDP: 3659, 14000-14016, 22990-23006, 25200-25300

And nothing. No updates were downloaded between my gaming sessions (i didn't even turn my pc off between them). Is this a joke? This is an ongoing problem for years (many posts same as this one from years ago) that still hasn't beed resolved. It seems that the only solution is to uninstall the game and never play it again.

  • Does it make a difference if you run the game and Origin as Administrator?

Unfortunately I've reached my monthly data usage limit so I can't reinstall it now.

Maybe my internet provider changed some settings or something.

I will try to connect PC to my phone and maybe it'll work.

    Thank you in advance,

    Your fellow BF enthusiast

Oh well, if you reached your monthly limit or something then this might be a reason to not be able to connect to the servers anymore. 🤨

Yeah, if you can connect it to your phone maybe test it with this as a Hotspot.
