Battlefield1Major Frame Drops Every 90-120 Seconds [FX-8350/R9 380 2GB/16GB RAM]

I have been having constant frame drops in-game, I have just about tried everything I could find on the internet and so far no fix. It does not matter the map or what is happening in front of me, happens any time during the match. The frame drop goes from 75-100+ down to 1-16, and it usually lasts for about 30 to 60 seconds. I will list the things I have tried...

-Update Windows

-Update Drivers

-Create Radeon Game Profile

-Put CPU Power Usage up to 100%

-Set game to high priority

-Enable all cores

-UnPark all cores

-Borderless Windowed Mode

-Create a User.cfg file

-EmptyStandbyList.exe (every 5 minutes)

-Lower Resolution/Settings

-Disable DX12

-Enable GPU Memory Restriction

-RenderDevice.RenderAheadLimit 3 (Tried 1&2 as well)

-Increased VRAM

-Reinstall

-Disable Origin in-game

And the list goes on a bit more, all I can think of at the moment.

FULL SYSTEM SPECS:

-AMD FX-8350 Eight-Core Processor at 4.00 GHz

-AMD Radeon R9 380 2GB

-16GB HyperX RAM 2133 MHz

-250GB Samsung 840 EVO SSD

-1TB Samsung Hard Drive

-Corsair H60 Water Cooler

-MSI 970 Gaming Motherboard

-Windows 10 Pro Version(1803)

  • - Test other games / app's to see if issue persists.

    - If not lower graphics settings as much as possible, disable all background apps, upgrade CPU.

    - If so troubleshoot hardware (clean fans etc, test open case, reapply thermalpaste to CPU +/ reseat GPU, reseat all cables, Remove all external / non-essential hardware, upgrade BIOS, reseat memory, replace PSU or Mobo).

There could be a lot of reasons why this occurs we will have to give it a proper evaluation. But even without lockups your CPU will bottleneck a little.

There is only one other game I get frame drops, Dota 2. But, it is not the same as in BF1 and I only get the frame drops when my game is about to crash in Dota 2. Did everything you said except for upgrading the CPU, still have the same problems.

Hey, @Blackspider131 When you are playing Battlefield 1 are you noticing any hardware that is capping out on 100% in task managers when you start lagging?

No hardware caps at 100% while playing. I believe it's due to temperature performance throttling. I was watching my temps while I played and I only got the drops when my temps went down. So my processor is downgrading performance so i don't overheat it. I'm trying to figure out why my temps are so high, i put new thermal paste on and i have a water cooler, and i have the pump plugged into a 12V connection.
