Battlefield's Twitch Presence

Greetings,

I am a Battlefield player who streams full time at twitch.tv/widgitybear. I love the game, love streaming on Twitch, and have left my job as a software engineer to pursue streaming for a living.

I believe that Twitch is great for both streamers and for EA/Dice. Twitch streamers are providing free advertising for your game to thousands of people a day, and bring many new players to the game. Additionally, they help to build the community by pushing competitive play, and by bringing players together in chat.

However, as Battlefield3 has become more popular on Twitch, it has attracted trolls. For a week straight, I have been unable to stream for longer than 5 minutes before getting shut down by said trolls. Trolls can kill streams by spoofing GUIDs, DDOSing servers, or DDOSing streamers. These are problems that are unique to Battlefield--other major games have done the basic development required to protect their players.

So, as someone who is trying to make a living playing Battlefield, I have to ask: Are you guys going to do anything to protect the streaming community in Battlefield 4? There are many players who are working very hard to build your game's community and develop a battlefield presence on Twitch. Are you going to do anything to protect that community, or are you going to let it die?

Thanks,

-Widgitybear
