BF 3 Co-op mission in com center issue

Me and a friend played 1 co op mission.  After the mission ended and we were in the com center, it would show each of us as a status as in a co op game with each other but we had finished and exited from the mission.  We are both able to join up to multiplayer servers, but we can't join each other for another co op mission.  I've been told to update punkbuster, which we have both done.  Remove our settings folder, then remove and then re add each other to friends list.  After all that, it still shows up as in a co op when I log into the com center.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.
