BF1 HDR Automatically turns on and doesn't turn off

Whenever I launch BF1 it triggers my monitor's HDR and blasts the value settings. After trying to adjust the levels, nothing happens.

Even after turning off HDR in-game (and through Windows) the HDR is still on. Most annoyingly, even after quitting the game, it locks my monitor's HDR into the on-position and I'm unable to turn it off unless I restart my machine.

Suggested solutions?

  • I have the same problem. When I enable HDR in my Windows settings and restart the computer it works fine. Unfortunately there is no way to turn off HDR completely as far as i’m aware.

Had the same issue for a while now, while I didn't find a permanent fix I found that going into game settings and switching HDR from OFF to Auto and then back to OFF did the trick. Make sure you back out of settings after each switch for it to apply. Hope this helps!

To update, I found that switching the game from fullscreen to borderless fixes this issue. I believe this bug was introduced after the BF1 anti-cheat update. I also noticed that I am getting less FPS since the update.

launch the game, have it on fullscreen, change it to windowed, close the game, relaunch it and itll disable.  turn on full screen again :)
