BF3 Co-op games won't start (stuck on "Initializing")

I bought Battlefield 3 Premium Edition for PC before Christmas. I am playing it on Windows 7 Professional 64-bit, on an i7 laptop with a Geforce 650M, a 512GB SSD, and 16GB of RAM. I have been able to start public co-op games in the past with success. Sometimes they wouldn't go past "Initializing" and I had to close it and try again (and it would work then), but in general it worked fine. Now, as of yesterday, I am unable to get a co-op game to start, and they are always stuck on "initializing". What gives?

Nothing on my computer or internet connection changed. I can still start regular multiplayer matches without any problems. I have read all sort of posts about all sorts of fixes that don't apply to me or that don't seem reasonable (reinstalling the game and silly things like that - I did check the repair install function on origin, nothing was found to be wrong with my installation of BF3).

First of all: Is this is distinct and clearly known issue or has this been associated with all sorts of malarkey?
Secondly: Is there any working fix to this?
Lastly: Is this something that will be fixed via an update in the future?

  • I have no problem playing CO-OP on my PC.

    This problem is user related.

You will need to disable your Anti-virus programs, disable your Windows Firewall, disable your UpNp and SSDP in services and in router. Also check in router your NAT type, it must be OPEN.

I already have all that set up. Not that I am happy about that. No other game I've ever come across requires AV to be off and NAT fully open. Idiotic.

Anyway, as I said, I have already set up the forwarding, turned off UpNp and SSDP, and all that. It still won't join Co-op games.

    Your move.

Got nothing, do you? Just admit it. At the end of the day, this is a fault with BF3 and Battlelog. And it's not the only unfixed flaw in BF3, by the way, as many can attest.

  • your not very nice are you?, he's trying yo help..so no need to get cockey!

Deleted bf3 folder in documents, or at least profile file? tried that? maybe you have

besure to make a copy 1st!

If done allllllll things, then a silly reinstall might do the trick!

That's clearly an issue with BF3.

I was playing coop without any issue for 2 days.

Then for no explainable reason one hour later it didn't worked anymore.

I didn't changed anything on my computer or network settings.

There are many users with this issue, just google, you just can't ignore that it's a real issue.
