BF3 Freeze on Old Maps and Co-OP

I'm been having a problem with BF3. I select old maps, my screen freeze from the loading screen.

There times I play one map and later get frozen to the next game, while loading.

I also not able to play Coop because it freezes on the loading scream.

My console a PS3.

The maps that get frozen are:

  • Tehran Highway
  • Strike at Karkand
  • Caspian Border
  • Grand Bazaar

Co-OP

The rest I could play. I have the Premiun.

Okay you should start deleting your gamedata to get rid of possible corrupted files. There may be a corruption in the game or update files that are stored on the system itself. Please try deleting these game files and try the connection again. To do this:

    1. Press the PS button on the controller to enter the PLAYSTATION 3 XrossMediaBar
    2. Select the Game tab.
    3. Select the Game Data Utility and press the X button.
    4. Find and delete all the game data or roster files listed.
Note: When you play online, the online roster will automatically download before an actual match starts.

    Please keep us updated!

  • Thank you for your help,

I follow your instruction and only solved the CO-OP.

I'm able to play CO-OP. However, I freeze when playing the following old maps:

    • Grand Bazaar
    • Caspian Border
    • Tehran Highway
    • Operation Firestorm

When I selected the above or direct (follow friends) maps, the loading screen freeze. My friends, tell me that I show up in the game, but I can not play.

    Please help.

On PS3 there are a few things that may help:

    1.  hard wire your console into the router

    2.  turn off the PS3 media server - this allows other devices to log into the PS3 to access media and is a resource hog

    3.  Rebuild your PS3 Database (don't worry you won't lose any data) as described here (this really helps a lot of times):  http://www.ps3blog.net/2011/01/28/tips-and-tricks-ps3-rebuild-database-faq-recovery-menu/

    4.  Ensure that your console HDD isn't almost full

    5.  Make sure that your console is clean and dust free in an open space - heat makes computers (and consoles) run slower.

    6.  coordinate with your family members\roommates to ensure nobody is using too much bandwidth while you play online.

    7.  Cycle the power on your router to ensure that you have a good connection.

***Most importantly play in your own region.  That means you will have to use server broser and click R3 to select your filters to include only servers in your own region but the result is worth it.
