Forum Discussion
Well, I have a few ideas 🙂
- Make sure Origin doesn't have connection issues (https://help.ea.com/article/connection-issues-with-origin)
- Make sure the correct ports for BF3 is open (https://help.ea.com/article/online-ports-for-battlefield-3)
- Try setting bf3.exe as a trusted application in the windows(/other) firewall
- If you have a Realtek soundcard try disabling it in the BIOS
- Try deleting the BF3 Settings folder in C:/Users/USERNAME/My Documents/Battlefield 3
- Use Windows Eventviewer to look if there's an error and copy/paste it as xml here
- Run Origin and Battlefield 3 as administrator (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/ff431742.aspx)
- Go to the cloud button on BF3 and uncheck the “enable cloud storage for all games” box. Launch the game, quit it and re-enable the cloud storage box. Make sure to use the local data when the information box popping up.
- Remove all overclocking and check if that works
- Try closing all possible background applications + windows defender
Please accept solutions if they are correct and press the XP button if somebody helped you. This way you help others in the same situation.
Cheers

Hey
There Are no conection issues with Even bf or origin (connection issues would never produce a fatal system crash.
User acount control is off.
d bf3 runs as an admin. My motherboard has an soundvlaster soundcard so but im using the g35 headset for sound (like you can see from the dxdiag)
Also as statet i formatet my pc an still have the same issues.
No overclocking is Applied to the system ( tho the geforce titan ato overclocks becouse of the gpu boost, but that cant be turnt off since its a build in the gpu for all 600 geforce series and above that.
As statet earlier event log dose not show annything beside from unknow and unexpectet system reboot. From my earlier experience i cyeckt if my ssd wasent crashing like the old Kingston ssd, but the Samsung 840pro ssd did not crash.
Also i dont belive wrong settings can crash a system like that or Even origin since it dose not ave acces to core system and just would crash the program itself. I belive that i have some experience that ican rely on. To behonost i belive there is a bug in the game exe that create a overload of the cpu og.memory or gpu on calculations on certan system that crahses the Windows kernel. This can only Be done by a bug in the direct x programing /c++ Code. Since its also time based. So question here what can i do beside the standard thing (that i tried already from earlyer forum post i read)
- 12 years agoHi m8,
Can you tell me what your memory usage is just before the crash.
It could be a memory leak in bf3 combined with a unsupported win 8 since last few updates. Heard it before.
So see if your gpu and vram are stable.

Yea same thing i think. So its strangr they dont have win 8 support. They should have it. 😛
a gonna check the ram and cpu usage. And see if i can track gpu valurs too. When i get back from work.
w you heard simular problems with Windows 8 on bf befor? After some patches?
