Please try turning off Ambient Occlusion, as suggested by lxgfusionfoe before (thanks!) over here:
- Right click on desktop-> Nvidia Control panel
- From 3D Settings go to Manage 3D settings
- In the Global Settings tab, set the Ambient occlusion to Off
- In the Program Settings tab, set the Ambient occlusion to Off

Tried that, Didnt work.
Still getting the Directx error, Next suggestion pls?

I just started getting it again.... Last time I just have to update my driver. I have tried what you suggested, still not working... help!

I have seen the message just one time, on Dec 19th after having the Nvidia Geforce Experience change the graphic settings for BF4 (from medium to High and sometimes even Ultra).
The problem did not occur again so far, so it might be solved with the BF4 patch of Dec 20th. If it does, I'm going to lower some video settings again..

NO i'm not changing my setting i like playing my game in ultra its why i got a power house PC EA needs to just patch the * game don't take this bull from EA or they will just keep doing it.

My Ambient Occlusion is off and I still get GetDeviceRemovedReason error..
Please fix this..I am sick of BF4 crashing because of this error...
My Graphics card is EVGA GTX 780ti

you could uninstall bf4 and dont play it 🙂 I think thats what ea want cause its been a issue since 2013 and now its 2015

false the first topics with that problems are from 2009 (it comes with vista) is it not an ea problem its a windows problem

There is clearly more than one problem and answer here. But here is what fixed it for me.
I'm running two GTX 770s in SLI and would get the error off and on. Sometimes I could go days and sometimes hours.
I finally used MSI Afterburner to under clock my cards. Not much. -50 to the Core and Memory clocks. Didn't effect FPS or game play at max settings.
Boom. It's Been Months and no problems. I don't know why but it also helped a friend with the same problem.
