BF4 DirectX error

Since I play BF4 I got problems with my GTX 590 graphic card. When I enable both GPU cores, I get errors like that:

The error occur during the map loading, before the game starts. After it shows up, it does not crash the computer, but I have to kill the BF4 process on task manager.

When only one GPU core is enabled, the game works.
On BF3 everything is ok on dual graphic core.

I've got the latest graphic drivers installed. Here's my PC's spec.:

Intel I7 3930K 3,2 GHz LGA2011
16 GB RAM DDR3
ASUS P9X79
NVidia GTX 280 Zotac Amp!
NVidia GTX 590 Asus
Windows 7 64 bit
DirectX 11
PSU: 1,25 kW

GTX 280 is dedicated to the PhysisX only.

Could you help me to solve that problem? If you need additional information, please do not hesitate to ask.
Thank you in advance.

It is most likely that your SLI setup with two different models of your Nvidia card is causing issues. You could try different driver versions but there is not much we can provide with official workarounds. It is recommended to run the same video-card model with an SLI setup. Maybe some other guys here in AHQ have ideas how to fix your issue.

  • Hello,

    thank you for your reply.

Unfortunately, my two graphic cards aren't in SLI mode, they aren't  connected together. My older Zotac 280 AMP! is set to PhysisX only, I also use it's old, analog tv out.

The main card is GTX590, but since BF4, it works only on single GPU core, which is IMO, a waste of quite good graphic card.

When I was playing BF3, I had the same specification of my PC and I could use the GTX590 on dual GPU.

Since I've installed BF4, I wasn't able to play on both GPU cores ☹️

    Best regards,

    Pawel.
