BF4 Freezes the PC after last Origin Update

Hello Carbonic thanks for the respond. Suggestions were yours actually 🙂 Like you know "reloading / repairing game, game properties etc."  And I'm giving you the DxDiag info. This problem occurs non-periodically, sometimes it crashes after 5 mins, sometimes after 3 map and sometimes it does not.

 But solution may be simpler than I thought. Ofcourse I have no idea how this can affect the game but I was using Microsoft Edge. Yesterday I played with Google Chrome and not only once. There was not any crash.

Also I wouldnt call it crash tho. Cuz PC Works, I can control windows with Alt + Tab function but i can't see them cuz game freezes the scene. And there wasn't any "game stopped working" message or ram usage problems in task manager as far as i could see in the pop-up windows by holding alt+tab.

Now i have second thoughts "if it caused by the last origin update or the last Windows update" 🙂

The latest Windows update did update Edge so I guess that could cause it 🙂

That clean boot destroyed my whole pc. PC did not recognize my PIN code to unlock it and I had to reset everything. I did that before your last message and im still trying to configure things. I wish I never did that thing.

EDIT: Problem still exists after a big reset of OS @Carbonic Now i'm pretty sure it caused by the Origin.

I'm sorry you had such issues with the clean boot, that is not behavior that should happen if the system itself behaves properly.

A clean boot as described only disables all the things that have nothing to do with Windows. If Windows behaves weirder after a clean reboot that would indicate something is wrong with your Windows installation or your harddrive, so nothing to do with Origin.

I would advice checking your disk:

Check Hard Drive For Errors And Corrupted Files

All files can become damaged. This is just the nature of hard drives. If this affects the game, Windows or Punkbuster files this can cause errors and it's therefore a good idea to scan your hard drive. Do this for all hard drives that has Windows, Punkbuster, Origin and the game installed.

1. Go to "This PC" in Windows and right click the hard drive and click "properties"
   
2. Go to "Tools" and and press "Check"
   
3. Click "Scan Drive" and let it scan for errors.
4. If it finds errors let the program fix them
   (If there are errors it could mean nothing, but it can also suggest that it might be time to format your computer and/or replace the hard drive)
5. Reboot your computer
6. Run the scan again
7. Keep repeating step 3-5 until no errors are found.

After that you should try and run the Windows System File Checker:

@Carbonic problem is still there mate. I don't know what else to do. There wasn't any problem with drive or system files. re-downloaded and installed game. And i'm kinda 100% sure its cuz of the Origin now. Everything else OK. I don't know what they've changed with last update but it affects the game somehow. I'm so sory to keep you like this. This situation is torturing me either 🙂 Thank you for all your help. If there is anything else to try im eager to hear it out unless we are gonna need some official help about that i think. ☹️

Next thing I would try would be a clean driver reinstall. You basicly remove all your Nvidia stuff, use Display Driver Uninstaller:

to wipe the rest of it. Then you reboot and install the latest Nvidia driver from http://www.nvidia.com/
