i would like to put in my input @ZekeWarHawk have you tried Cleaning the disk carefully and making sure the game reads when you put in the disk the disk its self could have some scuffs that may be affecting it or your play station, Depending on what Generation of Ps3 you have
~60-120 GB Original model
~120-320 GB Slim model
~320-500 GB Super slim model
i may be able to assist you i have my current PS3 Red Super Slim 500 GB Running BF4 no problem now before i patched it i would receive a freeze at 46 % Sync
It two 3-7 times doing a Database repair to fix the issue until a patch came out but since Battlefield 4 is the current state it is in we have a long way to wait for another patch.
I personally myself would go with @ragnarok013 on his method and restore your ps3 or delete a few and try to do a reinstall of bf4.
