BF4 PS3 to PS4 China Rising digital pre order DLC missing

Hello

I bought the digital pre order of BF4 on my PS3 and yesterday bought the PS4 Upgrade of the game, however I can't seem to be able to access the China Rising DLC on my PS4.

I just logged in my PS3 and the DLC is available to be downloaded free of charge, but not on my PS4. I haven't downloaded it yet.

How can I dl it on my PS4 system?

  • Sorry for any confusion caused regarding this.

In order to receive the Battlefield 4 Expansion Pack: China Rising on Gen 4, you need to have done either of the two following things:

    • Pre-ordered Battlefield 4 for a Next Gen Console at full retail price.
    • Purchased Battlefield 4 Premium for either a Gen 3 or Gen 4 Console.

Please see the following Battlefield article for more information on upgrading from Current-Gen to Next-Gen: http://blogs.battlefield.com/2013/09/upgrade-to-nextgen/

Please also see the following article for information on the benefits of Premium membership: http://www.battlefield.com/battlefield-4/premium

Update: An old tweet from the official Battelfield twitter account shows that Battlefield 4's China Rising DLC was originally meant to transfer from PS3 to PS4, even though current reports say otherwise.

@aandree15 Yes, your access to China Rising will transfer over when you upgrade to next-gen.

    — Battlefield (@Battlefield) November 1, 2013

The tweet above occurred on November 1, which was after the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game released, but before the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions released. Players who bought the last-gen versions of the game who have upgraded to the current-gen version of the game using Electronic Arts' assorted promotions have encountered problems transferring the China Rising DLC.

This was an almost official annonucement that the CR DLC would carry over.  As a consumer, we demand an explaination.

Come on EA guys. Don't you think it would be good customer service to at least comment on this now?
  • I've rang support, spoke to advisor and posted here but they seem to refrain from answering . On top they're is no way to complain which I've asked on all three formats and yet to receive an answer from them.

Hi guys. This whole process is a big joke. When I got my game on November 27th for the ps4 I inputted my cr redeem game code. In battlefield it said congrats when the game pack is available it will be free. Yesterday I tried to get cr but it was charging me and then the ps store went down. Today when I try to download cr via the I game store it says content not found. How can the content be missing? So I went directly to the ps store and found the pack. There was a charge but when I clicked on the price a drop down appeared and it let me select free. This gave me the expansion pack for free. However, when I go into the game I got a pop up saying hey pack unlocked as if to say I have it but if I select a cr map it states missing dlc.

Another issue why does my campaign came mode progress keep getting deleted. Worst battlefield game

EA give me another game code for me to get premium pack free because I expect full compensation as you have not met the customer satisfactory rights

You should have announced this BEFORE people tried to upgrade otherwise people would've just skipped the PS3 version and went for the PS4 version!!! Really??? You are now announcing this after the release of China Rising and after thousands of people have tried to upgrade China Rising to PS4 to no avail. Now we have to either buy Premium $50 or buy the DLC for $15. ISN'T THIS FALSE ADVERTISING!?!?!?

Ive been attempting to play my BF4 China Rising Xpack on my PS4 since Xmas morning. Ive read thru I believe to be every single forum on the net! There are a few problems that are linked to not being able to play your China Rising Xpack. The first two are posted all over the net on almost every site/forum there is. One being that the "price" when you attempt to DL the xpack either from the in game menus or the PSN Store youre prompted to buy it for $14.99. The $14.99 price box is in fact clickable and is a drop down menu. Simply click the box and click on the "FREE" price rather than the 14.99 price. The second well published issue is that your Soldier in your Battlelog (from the battlelog webpage/I accessed mine via PC) must match the account you're attempting to play the Xpack on. When I went to my soldier on my battlelog(www.battlelog.battlefield.com) it was a different "account" than the account I was attempting to play on. When I clicked on my soldier there was in fact FOUR soldiers that popped up under the drop down menu. One was mine from BF3 on PS3 and two were from my little brothers account. One being his current BF4/PS4 account and his other being a BF3/PS3 account. The soldier that was active was one of my little brothers from BF3/PS3. So I simply clicked my BF4/PS4 soldier and activated him. I still couldn't log in though. Even though my PS4 showed China Rising being Downloaded and Installed. So I found last night a thread on some website that I cant even remember. It stated for the first time a third problem that was incredibly fixable which isn't showing up on any of the major threads/forums/websites. So I posted it here on Battlelog hoping to help as many gamers as I can that are as frustrated as I was. So...you simply go into your settings on your PS4, click on PSN, than click on "RESTORE LICENSES"...that's (Settings-->PSN-->Restore Licenses). BAM! takes about 5 seconds flat and WHAM-O! Im rocking and rolling in China Rising getting my face melted off because I don't know the new maps yet =P. I hope this helps my fellow PS4 gamers! Cya in China! PS. Must be a known step considering its built right into the PS4. Any future DLC not playing problems I have I will now remember to "Restore Licenses" from the PS4 dashboard first!
