bf4 server shut down

on 2-19-2018 i bought battlefield 4 and my question is how long will i be able to play the game? when will the servers be shut down

  • Hi @MeVewwyGudPlayur,

You have a great BF4 Player Community Tracker here:

    https://battlefieldtracker.com/bf4/population

It shows you how many players you have real-time that are online playing the game on a BF4 server.

You can expect to have servers running as long as you have a sufficient large player base still playing the game and paying to rent those servers.

You can also observe that the Xbox 360 and the PS3 player base is smaller than the Xbox One, PS4 and PC bases, so they will typically be the first to stop.

So if you are on Xbox One, PS4 and PC then you can expect the servers to keep running for the foreseeable future!

Now EA is in the works to launch another Battlefield program this automn 2018, so that may accellerate the migration, as also many BF4 players moved on to only play BF1 today.

  • Hi @MeVewwyGudPlayur
The EA reserves the rights to close the servers at 2 years from the game exit. If they are still open after all this time can only mean that there are still active players

We don't know when EA will shutdown the servers but at the moment either BF3 and BF4 have a lot of players so I think the servers will remain open still for a long time.

So enjoy with this beautiful game 🙂

Well, servers won't be closed. Battlefield 4 is alive while players play it. Look at Battlefield 3, it's not closed and people still play it 🙂

  • I know it's two years later but I just wanted to let you know that I'm sure the servers for both BF3 and BF4 are going to be up for a few more years at the shortest. The player base for both games have jumped due to the fact that bf5 has died, and it would be stupid for EA to shut down the servers because they are the main producers of players atm. The company is in a tight spot for criticism and negative effects due to the poor outcome of the last few games and they need to make sure they have enough reasons for the players to still play and eventually buy the companies future products. Anyways, the servers are not going anywhere anytime soon.
