BF4 Sniping Glitch

TL/DR: - The straight pull bolt allows you to shoot before the bullet has been properly loaded into the gun.
- This causes inaccuracy with shots unless you wait a short amount of time for the gun to load properly.
- You cannot fire until the shot is loaded, the game gives feedback that the gun is loaded when using the straight pull bolt but the shot is still inaccurate.
- The scope needs to remain in the motion of re-chambering to give the player correct feedback that their shot would miss, or simply stop the player from being able to fire until the gun is ready (this is how the bolt action without pull bolt functions).

My video example/explanation:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49_1kPrltg4 [youtube.com]

Currently in BF4 if you use the straight pull bolt attachment you will suffer shot inaccuracy despite your scope being on your target. This occurs when you are standing still, crouched, prone and moving.

The problem is that the bolt action sniper only allows you to shoot when your gun is loaded, you can try this for yourself: fire the bolt action sniper and spam fire while the bullet is being put in the chamber, it won't fire until it is loaded. With the straight pull bolt when you do fire it will shoot with no-scope accuracy despite being aimed in, however without the pull bolt you will shoot with 100% aimed accuracy.

Through looking at the bolt action without straight pull bolt attached you can see it is not due to: movement, quick-scoping, suppression or any other nonsense.
It is simply that the pull bolt allows you to shoot too early thus causing the shot to go awry.

I believe the animation shown at the end of the video: where the hands raise the gun slightly up after re-chambering are where the issues arise. It seems that the straight pull bolt allows you to shoot as soon as the bullet is re-chambered and therefore before the gun has been raised slightly upwards. However, without the straight pull bolt attached you must wait until the gun is raised before firing and you always have 100% accuracy.

Of course I do not know this for certain it is merely my proposed explanation of the issue at hand, someone working on the game would have to comment to shed light on the issue.

Again, I must re-iterate the inaccuracy is not a case of 'quickscoping' or movement, the video clearly shows that quick-scoping with the first shot of the straight pull bolt clip and all shots of the non pull bolt clip hit with 100% accuracy.

I am merely expanding on the issue brought up in L0ckl34r's video:

Hopefully with a clearer explanation of the issue at hand, please refrain from silly comments or any discussion regarding recons in general, I don't care about that, what I do care about is the broken functionality of the straight pull bolt in Battlefield 4.

All the points in the video can be easily replicated, if you have any doubts experiment yourself and record your data to back up any claims to the contrary.

When will this be addressed?

  • It Still Sucks that they haven't officially addressed this issue yet. But I guess as a recon player from battlefield: BC2 & BF3, I could wait. I guess there are more pressing matters that needs to be addressed. I miss being aggressive and accurate with BA: snipers. ☹️

Maybe if they finished the game before releasing it? Still yet to play campaign as it does not save and IM not starting it for a 4th time. Multilayer is a joke
