The 'joy' of console is, or at least should be, a relatively level playing field in terms of hardware and this for me, includes input device.
Many feel, including me, see M&K on console as a form of cheating or at least gaining an unfair advantage over controller users.
If M&K is enabled, then users should be identified by a symbol in a similar way as to how PS4 and PS5 users are.

There you can choose the input method controller or m&k and it will display as such in the lobby (and scoreboard if I recall).
I can tell you that in a 10 lobbies of 10 players you will find more or less 5 to 15 m&o players the rest are controllers.
Having option to choose is always better than being forced to 1 thing.
Not everyone is able to buy a pc especially ATM, and being forced to play on a console with hardware outdated and with an input method which is not the ideal for some it's kind of a let down.
