BF6 Character & Class customizations

I've been part of the battlefield experience since bad company 1 on the xbox 360. I have to say even on the worst battle field series I've found that the experience was always more fun than COD due to the freedom of playing the map outside a tiny sandbox. I will say, where I feel like the title has been lacking, is in the customization. Anyone who has played any of the good Halo series games with customization (specifically REACH) knows how great it feels to personalize your character and fluant unlocked armor that others haven't gotten. I think similar experience should be applied to the upcoming game. Take Insurgency:Sandstorm for example, though I couldn't make it past the tutorial because the gameplay and graphics were so bad (on console), I appreciated what they tried to do. There's a full list of operative gear from head to toe to chose from. Now of course, being that the game will resort back to a class based system, I think that they can use the gear as a rank progression reward system per class while giving generic gear between each class (like a helmet, boot,or pants) for regular level up rewards. I also believe that the game should keep all the customization serious and mature. It's tiring seeing crazy abstract colors skins on operatives in cod and ridiculous outfits. The last thing I want to do be be sniped by a pink furri bunny. I suggest  being able to customize patterns but have the environment dictator the type of camouflage like desert, woodland, artic in their respective environments, maybe throw in black for spec ops.

Secondly I feel that more attachments should be able to be chosen.  Having to choose between a laser and a foregrip? Long barel and suppressor? Armor piercing and extended mag? What about my stock? And lets not forget the attachment penalty in BF42 was a bit ridiculous (in my opinion). I dont feel that the penalties were fully reflective of real life. I do understand that they were trying to keep the game balanced but customization is an integral part of the game and helps make the game more challenging and fun.

Lastly as a bonus, I wanted to say all the best weapon sounds were in Bad Company 2. We need that back.

    PurgatorySpirit,

I too would like to see DICE shift focus from Hero-shooter to something a bit more visceral as was BF3, BF4, BF1, and BFV. I would love additional options in the customization of my soldier. I recall BF4's mechanics of varying patterns and colorways. Does this function fit that which you describe? If so, let's focus and expand upon this.

Moreover, I must say that I appreciate a departure from BFV's RNG-awarded transmogrifications and further appreciated a linear mode of unlocking awards. It feels as though it's hardly less generic than other battlepasses on the market but I, at least, wasn't shafted with bad luck. I made my own fate by way of the weekly missions and ended up with pretty cool options for customization.

I believe that we must focus functionality, in-game and social tech and mech so as to restore the fun and community-centric focus that we all loved about Battlefield so much in our earliest days of play.
