Bought Battlefield 1 on Steam, game refuses to launch through Steam and Origin

Bought BF1 on Steam several days ago but have been unable to play a single second of it. The whole 24 minutes Steam says I have played is purely from the few seconds the 'Play' button is 'Stop'. When I try to launch BF1 through Steam or Origin, the 'Play' button will turn to 'Stop', but instead of launching BF1 it says 'Launching OriginThinSetup' for a few seconds before closing and reopening Origin and then a dialogue box says 'Battlefield 1 failed to start: Please repair your game installation and try again.'

I have tried:

Uninstalling and reinstalling BF1 and Origin multiple times

Making sure Origin and BF1 launch as admin

Clearing Origin cache

Making sure Origin and BF1 are not blocked by the Firewall

Updating all of the Redist packages. All of them.

Made sure BF1, Origin, and Steam are all installed on the same drive

Pointed Origins game install path to the Steam library BF1 is in

Unsure of what all drivers I should be making sure are up to date, but I have made sure my graphics card is up to date.

System Info:

Windows 10

Intel i5-7400

GTX 1060 3GB

16GB RAM

My specs aren't GOOD, but it's all above minimum requirements. I have been trying to get this to work for 6+ hours total and I'm about ready to give up.

  • Hi @Annihilator4414

Have you tried starting up your PC in a Clean Boot before launching BF1 to see if that makes a difference? If there's something else running that could be interfering with the launch, that may help to narrow it down.

For more details on how you can set up a Clean Boot check out the EA Help website. Please let me know how that goes once you've had the chance to give it a shot. Thanks!
