Broke my game after Jan 30 update and driver installation
I have a dell xps studio with an intel i7 and an AMD Radeon HD 5700 gpu. I was running a driver, i believe 12.xx and was experiencing minimal issues. I downloaded the Jan. 30th update to Battlefield 4 and the newest graphics driver at the same time. (i believe it was 13.11, the driver that EA had linked to the update.) when I installed the updates and ran the game, I had complete loss of battle sounds. I could only hear music and equipment, no enemy movements, gushots or explosions. I then thought it was a birght idea to system restore. Now the game will not launch.
What steps should I take? i am not patient enough to wait until driver update 14.1 comes out. My first guess is to uninstall battlefield, re-install the correct drivers, and reinstall battlefield. This will take some time, so before I do, is there any other suggestion? has anyone been able to solve a similar issue?
