Can anyone help me to why update1.08 is really long.

Haven't played bf3 for a while. I now noticed that there is an update, but this update is extremely to long. I have tried to update for a while then it says error unable to update. I am trying to update it on my ps3. There are two downloading bars. One of the bars has a 1/2 sign at the top of the bar. So I am guessing that this has to download 2 times to be fully done. I know that that will take 2 days. I really need help
