Can not download DLC/Can not download BF3

Alright. 2 Things. The main goal of both is to have BF3 and all DLC installed. I have Xbox Game Pass Ultimate so I get the game through EA play.

1) Can not download DLC in EA Desktop app.

I have tried so very hard to get it to work, but my efforts have not yielded any results. I can download the base game just fine, but when I try to download any DLC it tries to start the download but then says "Something went haywire. Try restarting the app or contacting support." I have reinstalled the app 10 times, changed install locations, but can not get it to work. I believe the problem may be that I have EA DEsktop installed on my C: drive, but have the game on a second drive which is the drive I want it on.

2) After dealing with the former, I decided to try and install it on Origin. The problem here is that it says I own BF3 Premium, all the DLCs, but not the base game, which means I can not download anything. When I try to click "See in Library" It takes me there, but does not show anything. The base game says it is included with EA Play, but does not show that I own it.

If you know a fix or another way to do it, please comment. Been battling this all day.

  • The game downloads and runs fine, but when it gets to the DLC packs, the download won't even start. I have tried restarting my PC, reinstalling battlefield, and reinstalling the EA desktop app.

  • I'm having a similar issue. I own BF3 through Origin, but I don't own the DLCs. I do own Game Pass and tried installing through Xbox Game Pass and I'm prompted with EA Play install of BF3 Premium...but I get the "Something went haywire" when trying to install the DLCs. This is after finally figuring out that EA Play WILL NOT INSTALL on any drive but the C:/ drive... EA Play is dog * and has been since it's inception. Really want to try this new Mod.

  • I Cannot play BF3 and I have my account linked to my EA... I have tried to unlink it and relink. reinstalled both EA desktop launcher and BF3 and it still wont launch the game I only get an error saying that my xbox account is not linked to my EA account.

  • I have the same problem, can't launch Battlefield 3 at all using the EA app, clicking launch opens Battlelog, joining through Battlelog requires Origin, opening the Origin link with the EA app tells me my Xbox and EA accounts don't match, but every other EA Play game works.

the quickest solution is for EA to give you a steam product code for battlefield premium.

they need to drop this app and go back to origin. break it down and rebuild it with its infra and tie in play and pro subs from there. this beta app endeavor was flawed from the start and they already had an established program that it is fighting to resolve account data duplication.

  • I am having the same problem too. It seems to not work if you have EA play through pc gamepass. Its like EA desktop app and Origin cannot sync or something. I contacted live support and they couldn't do anything but they reported the bug to the bug fixing team but I doubt they will fix it anytime soon. But keep in mind we are paying for a product we are not recieving.

  • Getting error when trying to download Battlefield 3's DLCs "something went haywire".
