Can you change soldier class in game without dying?

Hi all,

Dumb question, no doubt, but can you change soldier class mid-game without dying?

For example, eh egg n watching the scoreboard I’ve seen someone change from Assault to Medic but their death count was unchanged. I thought you could only change soldier class once you were killed, not within a life.

Am I missing something?

I know some weird stuff can happen when you get revived, like all your weapons changing to that of another soldier class, but does your soldier class possibly change as well? It’s the only thing I can think of.
