Can't add a friend to Battlelog :(

Can't add a friend on Battlelog. I click "add as friend" on Battlelog but nothing happens. It shows up in the friend search and even has an option to "join game" (nothing happens when I try to join). My friend also can't add me to Battlelog. In EA app it works, but what's the use? Playing together in platoon is not possible without Battelog.
Friends that I previously added to Origin I can see in Battlelog, but I can't add a new friend. Please help!

p.s. I don't have too many friend requests (I only have 4 friends)
