Can't get past first button timing scene

When I load the game it plays the cutscene as normal. Then I go and kill a few guys with my pistol. After that I get what i assume to be a shot gun but don't know bc i hvent got to use it. I am using a controller and when the guy pops out and grabs my gun it says to push lmb well i spamed the button corrisponding to that on my xbox controller and it doesnt work. I then tried my mouse and mousepad both of which havent done anything. I am also playing through gamepass so i downloaded EA play and launched it from there. Pls give answer soon i really wanna play this game!
