Could Not Activate

Hello, today i wanted to play battlfield 3 and i got this error pop up "We could not activate Battlefield 3 on this computer using the Origin Account you provided. Please locate your product key to activate the game using your Origin Account." I owned this game since 2013 and i can't play it now. I can play the game fine a few months ago. I even followed the steps here https://help.ea.com/in/article/unable-to-activate-battlefield-3/ please help.

  • Just posting this workaround fix here if anyone ran into similar issue 🙂 doing this seem to have worked for me.

    1. Open Origin Client

    2. Go to http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/ on your browser and log in with your origin account

    3. Since i use google chrome as my default browser i had to enable the "plugin free game launching" option. If you use a different browser you may not need to do this.

    4. Open the server browser tab and join any game.

    5. If it doesn't work on you first try, close the origin client and do the above steps again.

    I might have missed a few steps but those are the steps i remember doing to make the game work again. Sorry if it doesn't work for you.

  • I have come into this issue in 2023. I dug around the internet; and kept trying different things. I stumbled upon a fix for the "We could not activate Battlefield 3 on this computer using the EA Account you provided" error.
