Thank's for sharing the info @krispy 🙂Probably not a bug, i guess it's simply the case that this Weapons are part of the later added Weapons patch.And so they're probably not set up to be used for completing this requirements for the Medal which is a part of a specific full DLC.

Hi @krispy the issue is that these weapon variants have only recently been added, whereas the medal was introduced with the "They shall not pass " DLC and the weapons that came along with it. Hey i just thought it good to ask the question and see if there was a reason - it felt weird that other medals accept any variant but this one didnt - i realize BFVis coming soon and focus may be on the next game but its at least good that there is an answer here for others to find.

Its the same with the sjögrens slug - it doesnt count for the 5th todo for the medal.
i didnt know that at the time of writing about the ribeyrolles though!

Hey i just thought it good to ask the question and see if there was a reason - it felt weird that other medals accept any variant but this one didnt - i realize BFVis coming soon and focus may be on the next game but its at least good that there is an answer here for others to find.

I have some problem too.
Since i use medal and dog tag as motivation, it's quite disturbing.
I already kill 155 time with ribeyrolles optical, i got service star but i did not get the dog tag.
Then i realize my kill using this weapon also not count for croix de joan arch medal.
Hope can be fix soon

No, it's still not... what is worse you have to unlock the fabric model which is more ridiculous: 20 headshots with MP18 scope...!!!! You have to sneak on campers to achieve it (PS platform)

I'm gonna go ahead and dangerously necromance this thread.
The medal is still practically impossible at short notice because it doesn't accept Ribeyrolles Optical. Instead you have to unlock Automatico Factory, get 50 kills with it, get 20 headshots with Optical, then you'll unlock Ribeyrolles factory and THEN you can get your 20 kills for the FIRST STAGE of the medal. No one is using Automatico Factory and certainly not with the intent to unlock the inferior Ribeyrolles. The Subsequent stages of the medal also do not specify exact weapon patterns which, worst case scenario, means all 4 stages are blocked behind lengthy, high level, multi-stage barriers.
So much for me trying to unlock every medal. I already got screwed out of Assault Order of LeFever, Support Order of Valor, and Lightning Cross Order when my progress got reset in the middle-end of a week due to purchasing the premium pass...

I'm also curious that "RSC MLE1917" is required for the second stage but no where in game nor online does the "RSC 1917" include the acronym "MLE" ?
So uhh the medal is just a huge mess?
