Customize soldier in BF1 not working.

For some reason when I try to enter the Customize soldier screen in Battlefield 1 it won't let me and also the background flashes black periodically. And when I did make it in the menu some of my grenades/melee weapons are locked and I cant see any of my weapons skins. Please fix.

  • Hi @Airteacher3021,

I'd suggest you to repair the game files if you are on PC.

    Origin:

    Here are the steps:

    1. Run Origin as administrator.
    2. Go to My Game Library and find the game.
    3. Right click on it and select Repair.

Once the process is complete, the game should be working fine. This process may take a few minutes.

    Steam:

Steps on how to verify integrity of game files on Steam:

    1. Load Steam.
    2. From the Library section, right-click on Battlefield 1 and select Properties from the menu.
    3. Select the Local files tab and click on Verify integrity of game files...

Steam will verify the game's files. This process may take several minutes.

@Airteacher3021, gotcha. And with Customize soldier screen, I assume that you mean the menus where you can change the loadout of your soldier class?
  • @EA_Leeuw Yes, the one on the main menu before you begin a match. It won't let me enter. If it helps I'm also playing on a disc copy of the game.
  • @EA_Leeuw Will Uninstalling the game erase my data? Thats the main reason why I'm on the fence about it, if it doesn't I will try.

@Airteacher3021, it depends. Online data, as in your mutiplayer progress? That is safely stored on our servers etc. Local data, like single layer progress? That is locally stored on your console. It could be that this will be deleted when you reinstall the game.
  • @EA_Leeuw I actually just reinstalled the game and that didn't fix the problem. I think this might need patch or something.

@Airteacher3021, I think that unfortunately, Battlefield 1 won't receive any more patches, as it is a game that is almost 6 years old already. Therefore we can try to troubleshoot the issue for you.

Can you post a screenshot of the issue that you're having?
