deleted save

I exited the game and when I tried to re-enter it, all my progress was reset. My settings, customizations, everything was actually saved in the cloud, but everything was reset.

  • This can happen if the save file becomes corrupt. This usually happens if the game crashes, exits, or power is lost while the game is writing to the save file.

When you see the spinning circle icon in the corner of the screen that means the game is writing to the save file. If the game is shut off during this time the save file will become corrupt.

  • It literally happened. I suddenly closed the game and when I wanted to enter it again, everything was reset. So what should I do now?

Well, the game is saved to EA's cloud drive. Can I access old saves from there?

From my experience the corrupt save file is saved to the cloud, which then corrupts the cloud save as well.

The game isn't able to tell if a file is corrupt or not. It just uploads the file to the cloud and overwrites the old save file that was stored in the cloud.

If this is on PC I recommend keeping a backup of the settings folder located at Documents\Battlefield 1\Settings

I've had the same thing happen to me which is why I keep a backup of the settings folder now.
