Directx Error BF4

This is the same  error i get while trying to go from battle log to the game at startup..

** TEMPORARY SOLUTION: **

The game has a settings file leak, where it gets slower and slower every time you make a change to any jet keybindings in settings.

To reset it delete the PROFSAVE_profile file in your My Documents/Battleifeld 4/settings directory and start over.

You'll have to rebind all keys again, which also count towards your max # of settings changes.

This is an issue with both jet and helicopter bindings

THIS IS A MAJOR BUG WHICH EA HAS YET TO ACKNOWLEDGE

For those who are PC savvy, here is a regex to find/remove all of the invalid entries in the PROFSAVE_profile file

^GstKeyBinding\.[a-z]+\.Concept.*\.(([4-9][0-9]*)|([0-9][0-9]+))\.[a-z]+ [0-9]+$

My PROFSAVE_profile file had over 327,000 invalid entries in it

So, if you know how to do regex search/replaces, you can bind as many keys as you can until the game crashes, then do a search/remove using the string above, then continue binding your remaining controls. If it locks up again, rinse and repeat until your bindings are all set. I only had to do it once, but YMMV.

I get the same thing on any setting changes. I learned how to play on BF2 so I always need to flop the controls over. Main gun is 3, secondary 2 ect. My error says

It also did this with 2 other drivers. Would like to see the comunity benefit from this post!

I am running windows server2008R2 this might help you if your running win 7 also. I spent 3 hours on the phone with ea trying to get BF3 to work with no dice. ( not to upset had it on PS3 ) now BF4-B is out and still getting the same error. The problem I found out is that Server dose not install Directx this is why I was getting the error it could not find it because it was never installed. Even if you go to Microsoft to get the Directx exe still no dice it will not install the dll files you need. Here iswhat you want to do.

unzip and run the setup

that’s it. Try running the game and im mostly sure it will run.

ahhhhhh this error is tearing me apart... tommywiseau does not approve. i can not enter a game the error exits me out ive tried everything from clearing all gc drivers and adding 13.10b to updating directx to pixie dust on the processor. please help EA.

My game crashes and I get booted from the server when I try to edit keybinds. Nothing else causes it, just keybinds.

I have a GTX 670 and I have the beta driver - still causes keybinding problems. Can play the game if I do not want to edit anything though. Plays fine.

Added you for this solution - I think I'm experiencing this exactly as I am left-handed and have to rebind a ton of keys. I'm a little confused by your description and I'm hoping you can help me so I can finish binding all my keys without further crashes.
