before this, i wasn't even able to boot up the game.
now at least it boots up... before it crashes...

Seconding. Running an i5 2500k and GTX 780. Was lucky if I could get the intro cinematic to play on campaign before. Now it seems to be running smoothly. Will check multiplayer later today.
This error appears to be DirectX 11.1 related.
Here are 2 things that might work:
If you are on Windows 7 64 bit uninstall the windows update "Platform Update for Windows 7 x64-Edition (KB2670838)", this is supposed to add partial DirectX 11.1 support, but seems to cause alot of crashes.
Otherwise you can try disabling DirectX 11.1 for BF4. This is normaly done by editing the config files, but can be made easier by downloading the
Realmware BF4 Settings Editor. Go to settings, then console, then check off both DirectX 11.1 options, then save and try it out.

Update: Switched back CPU to Auto detect in Physis Nvidia. Set launch options in Origin:
RT click BF4>Game Properties>Set "when launching game" select " BF4 (x64) seems to work.
Next day Update: Back to CPU, runs fine for 45 mins-1hr in MP then I get
BF4.exe has stopped working and no Direct X error?!?
