I have this problem on my brand new computer with an AMD Radeon R9 280X card. I can play about 30 seconds before getting the "DirectX function GetDeviceRemovedReason failed with dxgi_error_device_hung" error and the game crashes.
On a whim I tried playing the game using the (x86) executable instead of the (x64) executable and I've played for long hours over multiple sessions without the DirectX error. I've tried multiple suggestions from this thread to fix it and nothing works when playing with the 64-bit executable.

How do you do that? I mean, you run the game from Battlelog. Where in Battlelog/Origin can I configure that it should use the x86 executable instead of the x86_64 executable?

I still havn't had another directx crash since lowering my settings to medium. The game doesn't look very different and the crashes are gone so I'm happy. Hoping that the problem gets patched at some point since the game still runs well at high settings and may even go to ultra but for now it's ok
