Disable music in Single player PC

Hi

How to disable the in game music?

There is no option to do so through the menu.

Is there a way to do it like with Call of duty modern warfare, by deleting some files from the system?

Please don't reply saying something like:

"Why can't you just enjoy it?"

or

"Are you bothered by it?"

Yes, I''m bothered by it, because it takes away from more authentic experience and make me feel like I'm watching a movie.

Thank you for suggestions if any.

Can you hit esc, go to options, audio and is there a music volume option that you can turn all the way down?

    No, you can't!

There are MASTER and VOIP volume options only.

BF3 doesn't have this option either, but the music isn't as  incredibly persistent , and not as loud.

    Please help somebody!

I'm so annoyed wit the music that actually tried to figure out myself how to disable it through system files.
Through internet research i found out that there is the main file for all user configuration called PROFSAVE_profile.

If you have WIN7, it is here:

    C:\Users\......your user name....\Documents\Battlefield 4\settings

If you open it with WORDPAD you can see the command line which supposedly controls the game music volume:

    GstAudio.MusicVolume 0.700000

I changed the value to 0 but nothing changes in game.

    There is another command:

    GstAudio.Volume 0.680000

Which controls your master volume and changing it's value actually works.

If you put to 0 (sound off) or 1 (max sound), you can see the slider of master volume changes accordingly in game menu.
(you have to change the values while the game isn't running)

But no matter what value I was giving to music volume command, nothing changed.
Please help if somebody knows something!

By the way i contacted EA customer support and they said if the developers intended to make the game without feature to turn the music off, then i have to play with music. - nice touch!

Sorry if you find my identical posts in other threads, I'm trying to post anywhere it's appropriate to get as much attention as possible.
Maybe one day the developers will understand what inconvenience they caused and give us some solution.

  • exactly ! If I wanted to see a movie I'd have turned to NETFLIX, not BF4. I just can not believe the arrogant and no sense decision not only to obrigate the players to listen aBethoven opera while they were supposed to be simulating a war scenario, but also to dont give an option to turn that crap off. They just made a piece of art become an useless piece of app. And for those who says: "But i think it is so cool" : So go play mario bross, Tumb Raider and whatever.  I just cant play. Asking for refund in the same day I bought. Going back to cod, at least there is a option for turning off this "netflix nonsense environmnet" that these devops for a lack of creative ideias want to vomitate on us.
