Solved

Disc read error 99% installation *SOLUTION*

Are you having disc read error at 99% install?

Origin updates are causing install failure. Avoid all updates of Origin until game is installed.

SOLUTION:
1. Uninstall Origin, delete file left behind in Program Files.
2. Disconnect from internet
3. Install Origin from disc
4. Don't login when asked, cancel.
5. Right click Origin icon, go Properties, edit Target with a space on the end followed by /noupdate
6. Reconnect Internet
7. Start installation from disc and login to Origin when requested.
8. After install and game update, remove the /noupdate

If the update still persists, cancel it:

1. Disconnect from internet.
2. Launch Origin so you have the login screen.
3. Reconnect to internet
4. Now login
5. Start install from disc.

This does not work if this is you first time using Origin. I keep getting a error message telling me I have to be online if this is my first time on origin; not the best first impression. Everyone I have talked to says they are getting this problem. Absolutely crap work EA.

    Hey.

First of all, thank you for making this thread.

However it doesn't like I am in possession of the /noupdate file.

This is really pissing me of as I'd love to actually be able to play my game.

Perhaps you have a fix or could help me out somehow?

    - Regards

NOTE: Really bad first hand impressions made by Origin.. Definitely not a program I'm going to use for anything else than BF3.

EDIT: I got it all fixed now. Once again, thank you so much. Really made my day! 😕mileyhappy:

Why don't you want to download it?  You probably will have to download an update anyway?
