Downloading BF3 and its going super slow...

I have just started downlaoding BF3 and its only going at 180kb/sec and its going to take over 23 hours...

Have I done some thing wrong?

    Hello widowblade87,

It's best not to use other sources other than through the official channel, that being the Origin client.

Although after the download is complete it might be best to make a backup/save of the Battlefield 3 folder which is located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 3

You could then use the backup/save of the Battlefield 3 folder in future to quickly install Battlefield 3 following the below instructions.

Installing Battlefield 3 using a backup/save of the Battlefield 3 folder!

Run/Open the Origin client click the My Games tab/button.

Within the Origin client right click Battlefield 3 and select Download.

When the Battlefield 3 download has started select Pause.

Locate the folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games".

Move/Drag the Battlefield 3 Folder you have saved into the folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games".

If asked to Replace/Overwrite click Yes.

Resume the Download in the Origin client.

    Done!

  • Well, it depends on alot of things, most importantly how fast your connection is.

I download with 7-9 MB/sec doing the exact thing that you are doing.

Please accept solutions if they are correct and press the XP button if somebody helped you.

    Cheers

    Hello widowblade87,

This will be due to the Akamai Content Delivery system Origin uses for it's content distribution.

The only help I can give you is to read and follow these guidelines linked here http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/7576794.page

Note: Even after following the guidelines linked above your speed will probably not change.

Last time I downloaded this game it only took like 50 Minutes......

Why all of a sudden do they do this......

Is it possible to torrent it?  or will that not work with the whole Origin Client?
