@EA BF3 XBOX 360 Server connecting issues

I had no problems playing it on Xbox 360 up until a couple of weeks ago.
Now when I load up the game (with or without signing in first), when I get to the main menu and try to load 'Multiplayer' or any other multiplayer related options, I get the message "Connection to EA Online was lost", and then the game stays stuck in a loading animation, still in the main menu, until I reboot the game, or sign out/in again.
I have tried all of the connection related fixes, and it's definitely not a problem with my connection. Also tried the console cache clearing which hasn't had any effect.
Another thing to note is that the feed on the right of the main menu for the battlelog fails to load the feed and gives a similar error about not being able to connect to the battlelog.
I can play other non-EA games online with no problems, so I hope this gets fixed as soon as possible, so I can play one of my favourite games again.
