12 years agoError 131086:262149
I downloaded Battlefield 3 today and I'm trying to install it with Origin. Whenver I get to 90% the installation stops and gives me the error code 131086:262149. What do I do?
Yes I have tried that already.
I am not sure if this could be a source of the issue, but I downloaded this game off Uplay, and in order to start the install I have to start it through Uplay and then it transfers over to Origin, otherwise Origin wants me to redownload the whole file, so I don't know if that is an issue and perhaps I need to redownload entirely through Origin? I am out of ideas.
That's good to know, can you start Uplay via a right-click -> Run as administrator please and try again. On a computer every process (program) has a parent process from which it inherits its priviledges, in this case Uplay is launching Origin and if Uplay is missing some priviledges, Origin will be missing them as well which could lead to this error message.
If that doesn't help either and Battlefield is showing up in your games library in Origin, then please try installing if from Origin directly.
Hope any of this works for you.
Well thats what is odd about it, In order to start the installation I have to start it through Uplay, because if I start Origin by itself then it only prompts me to download the game again even though its already been downloaded, is there a way to get Origin to recognize that I already have the game, I really dont want to redownload the entire game on Origin just in the hopes that I wont get the same error, why is it that I have the game downloaded through Uplay, but Origin does not recognize that it has already been downloaded?
That might be because Uplay is saving the game files somewhere else. It's kinda like if I would save a file on your computer but I wouldn't tell you that I did this and where the file is located 🙂
Search for your Uplay game folder and you should be able to locate the Battlefield folder including all the files. I hope the file/folder structure is the same as it is with Origin, but I guess that's the case. Check in your Origin options where your Games folder is located and copy & paste the Battlefield 3 folder into it. Then restart Origin and if you click Install it should hopefully detect the files and start the installation.
Please let us know if that doesn't work.
Okay I found the files in the Uplay folder where should I place them in Origin? should I put them in Origin games or Origin? the file with the bf3 files in it is called 225, does it need to be titles something else for origin to recognize it?
The default path would be C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games and in the end it would look like
C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 3\here_are_some_files_and_folders_from_bf3
Here's a screenshot of the Battlefield 3 folder content:
If the default path was changed in the past, open Origin and open the Application settings from the menu. You can check the path value under Advanced settings.
Okay, well I think you misunderstood me, the files I have from Uplay that I transfered are just the download files not the installed folder like what your displaying, Iv started the install sort of manually from Origin and its installing right into the download file that I put in the Origin games folder. So I will see if that works.
I was also thinking if this does not work, what if I moved the downloaded files from Uplay to where origin downloadeds its files, according to the advanced settings that file should be in C/programdata/origin/downloadCache
however since I never actually downloaded any games from origin I dont believe I have this file, "programdata"
Okay moving the files didnt seem to make a difference, like I mentioned above is there a way to trick origin into thinking it has downloaded the files, could I simply create the file path above and move the download/installer in there?
I have a screen shot of what i am working with if that helps, how do I paste a screen shot on here?
Ok, it's sad to hear that it did not work that easy ☹️
I'm not even sure if the Game Installer path is used in any way, as far as I know the files are directly downloaded into the destination game folder.
If you would like to add screenshots, please upload them to any image hosting website and include the link to it in your post.
Anyway, I would suggest downloading and installing the game through Origin again. This will probably be the easiest and fastest way towards a working game, I'm sorry that it didn't work out that well so far for you and I really hope that a final and direct approach via Origin will resolve this issue for you.
Please keep us posted if the error persists.
