Try running the game as administrator, that could work.
To do so, Right click the .exe, and select "Run as Administrator".

game disconnected: your connection to the server timed out- 13 years ago
I get disconnected with the error "Game disconnected: your connection to the server timed out." all the time. I am connected to the internet through a bridged modem/router, which means that there is no way in *bleep* that there is a firewall that's blocking the traffic. I have also disabled any and all software firewalls on my system, and turned off the UPNP service (which was never on to begin with). In addition to all that, I do not have network discovery enabled.
Just to make it even more interesting, I happen to work for my ISP, and I know for a definite fact that there is nothing wrong with my connection.
I also find it a bit suspicious that BF3 is the only game in my library of 240+ games that this happens to..
How do you solve this?
