The subject says it all.... "AN ERROR WAS REPORTED FROM EA ONLINE". Get this message every time I try to join a game. I know the computer and ISP are in fine working condition as a friend of mine logged in on my computer and played without issue. After multiple contact attempts at help.origin.com with a live advisor and no working solution from EA support you can imagine I am fairly irrate with this whole ordeal. Havent been able to really play the game in quite a few days now.
Anyone else found some sort of solution for this? I've tried the suggested change pw/account name fix, unfortunately it did not work for me. I fear EA support simply wont fix the issue, really bummed with how they treat their customers.

I'm getting the same issue, just started today. I tried to reset my password (I'm pretty **bleep** sure I didn't forget it). After that I still get the error. The password works to log me onto battlenet but origin is not working for me.
"AN ERROR WAS REPORTED FROM EA ONLINE" - could we at least get an error code so we can search ourselves to find any reported solution?

After 2 or 3 days of this happening when trying to join a BF3 server from Battlelog, I can now log in. No report from EA on whether or not it was something they fixed, or something just organically fixed itself. ?

The Solution for me was to change back to my old password.
However I have yet to find a way to use a new password. I am afraid the old one might be compromised.

there is one fix:
So I was hit with the password change bug and everything went **bleep** up. Couldn't log in etc.
So I changed my password was hit with the "An error was reported from EA Online". Various browsers (firefox, chrome, IE) wouldn't launch the game. Going through and uninstalling the plugin, browser, game didn't solve the problem and just wasted time so don't try this first.
The steps I used to get back to playing are:
Forced to change password? Change it, then change it back.
If you are like me and use a random generator for your passwords this is kinda impossible so I did this.
Changed the password 3 times, first time was forced, second one to a different password, change to a new password and back to the second password. Don't use the "I forgot" option after the force change. This works via the EA account settings.
If you normally use Chrome for your browser, try using IE or Firefox first to see if the game will launch correctly. If it does launch correctly in the other browsers but not your default you have to uninstall the default BF3 browser and re-install it.
Uninstall and re-install plugin and you should be good to go.- 13 years ago
Just wait ~1.5 days(dont change pass for like 10times - change once and wait) - and it will update your pass on their server - I tested, and it works for other members.

If you're using Chrome and you're having the "AN ERROR WAS REPORTED FROM EA ONLINE", I've managed to figure out how you can find your old password.
This may not work if you've saved over your old password with your new one in your browser. If your problem is caused by you having changed to a new password, you can find your old password if you go to
chrome://chrome/settings/
Press "Show advanced settings"
Find "Manage saved passwords"
Find battlelog, press it and press "Show" and you will now be shown your old password.
Change your password back to your old one and play once more!- ApprovedAnonymous13 years ago
Changed the password by Origin App. Got back to the old password and didn't work either. I'll keep on trying. Thanks for the suggestion.

I had this issue and managed to fix it by trying various methods. I'll list them out incase it helps someone.
Just a heads up I was unable to play BF3 for MONTHS on my pc (I use Vista so not 100% sure how useful this is for everyone) until I did the following:
- I updated punkbuster via their website (http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=dl-bf3.php) and downloaded the program, added BF3 to the punkbuster program and ran to update it.
- Ran both Origin and Battlefield 3 as Administrator. (Right click on the program -> properties -> tick run as administrator-> apply)
- I used Firefox instead of Google Chrome (Had issues with chrome for some reason)
- Finally I changed my Origin password to something brand new, and then changed it back to the one I had before. You can do this either via the origin client and clicking Origin at the top left then account and clicking change password or via the ea site.
- I cleared my cache/cookies/saved passwords on Firefox
- Then I restarted my PC and tried to launch the Campaign first via Origin, which worked fine, finally I changed some of my Server preferences so it was generic as possible and selected a server from the list available.
I'm not saying this WILL resolve anyones problem... let alone everyones... but it fixed it for me 🙂

I did also what taliara said above. Cleared the cache/cookies/saved passwords on Firefox. My origin password was already changed back to the older one. I updated the punkbuster and added BF3. Restarted and it's working so far. *-* Thx

Brother and I share two identical PC's. I had to reset my password today because Origin wouldn't let me login. Since changing password got: An error was reported from EA Online
Tried changing back, reinstalling plugin, changing browsers, disabling firewalls/av, etc.. Nothing worked.
Log into my brothers computer, doesn't work.
He logs onto mine, works fine.
This is perfect proof that the issue is not with either of our PCs or our netowrk/internet connection. Have written to EA... now the waiting game starts.

Whenever i try to join any server irrespective of any map or mode i get the error message "An error was reported from EA Online" . This is happening from the time i changed my password as battlelog was showing me wrong ID/Password. I came across a HOT FIX that switching back to your old password will solve the problem but unfortunately this wont work for me as i did not have any upper case letter in my old password. Please help me so that i can play BF3
