I have exactly the same problem. I couldnt somehow log in to my origin so i retrieved it and i changed my password in origin.com, then the error message started to appear whenever i try to join in any server. The only known solution for this is to change it back to the old password which was the last one that didnt give any error messages. BUT i cant fix it that way because it now requires atleast one capital, one number and eight characters, my old password didnt have any caps or numbers.
What is the solution in this case? Has anyone got any answers from ea-support regarding this?

I just changed my password, and it also made this issue. It annoys me, but the way the support treats you that's insulting. They called this, a connectivity issue and gave me a lists of ports to forward... Seriously?
I looked for solutions everywhere but no luck. I think it's an account issue. The old passwords didn't needed a capital, now they're forced to have one, maybe that's caused some problems. I don't know. But, I'm pretty sure I need to write a whole bunch of letters before the support guys stop giving me copy-paste answers with dumb solutions.
UPDATE
Don't know how mine just got fixed somehow. I did nothing. As far as I can tell EA support did nothing. I consider myself lucky.
