failed to connect to ea online [pc-steam]

Hi, I just got the BF1 from EA subscription on steam and the game starts and runs singleplayer fine but I can't access any online features. It just says "Failed to connect to EA Online

  1. My EA App overlay is working fine and is able to search for friends so it's connected2. I just played BF 2042 yesterday and today so no issue there
  2. I flushed my DNS
  3. Restarted router
  4. I restarted my computer
  5. I reinstalled the game
  6.  Changed my DNS to google (8.8.8.8)
  7. Checked a lot of other topics here but nothing came out of it plus most of them are outdated or were fixed by a patch back then.
  8. I tried figuring out how to contact support directly but it's a hell of an annoying maze to find a way to email or chat with them

My system is Windows 11, not sure which other info I should provide

    Hi @neyr129

Could we try the following to see if there is any change?

  • open the EA app.

go to the top left hand side, and click on settings.

then go to my account, then, right side is my profile.

click manage. it opens a customer portal,

on basic information click on edit button,

it wants to send you a security code.

    do that.

go to your email address which is on your account,

its a six digit code, enter it.

change your id . enter an extra digit or some extra letter.

save it. restart computer, it should work

  •  For anyone with the same problem I found fix.

For me it was the first thing. Crazy because I didn't touch anything before that and I played normally for years. First fix in video is allowing game.exe in windows defender. Back to game then! 🙂
