Battlefield Hardline PC – all DLC content inaccessible for all players

Hello,

since the evening of August 26, Battlefield Hardline PC players appear to have lost access to all DLC content across all four expansions.

Base-game multiplayer still works normally, but DLC content does not. When a server switches to a DLC map, players are disconnected with a “Missing Content” message or very similar wording. DLC weapons, camos and other DLC items that were previously available are also shown as locked/unavailable.

As far as we have been able to verify, this appears to affect essentially the entire active Battlefield Hardline PC player base. We have not identified a single player who can currently access DLC maps or DLC content normally. Players using different accounts and installations started experiencing the same problem at approximately the same time.

I am one of the long-time administrators/community organizers around one of the remaining active Battlefield Hardline PC servers, working together with the server owner. Because of this, we have been able to observe the issue across many different players rather than only on my own account.

The issue has directly affected server operation as well. The server owner temporarily removed DLC maps from the rotation because switching to them was disconnecting players, while base-game maps continue to work normally. The server is therefore currently running a reduced base-game-only rotation in order to remain playable.

In my own case, the EA App correctly recognizes ownership of all four DLCs and shows “You own this add-on” for Criminal Activity, Robbery, Getaway and Betrayal. However, Battlefield Hardline itself still treats the DLC content as unavailable.

I have already contacted EA Help. Support performed account-side DLC/entitlement refreshes twice. I also cleared the EA App cache, completely uninstalled the EA App, waited more than 20 minutes as instructed, reinstalled it, logged out and back in, and tested the game again. The issue remains unchanged. EA Help has now documented the issue for review and recommended reporting it here as well.

Since this appears to affect essentially the whole active PC community simultaneously, while base-game multiplayer continues to work normally, this strongly suggests a wider Battlefield Hardline PC DLC entitlement/backend issue rather than a local installation or individual-account problem.

Could this please be investigated by the appropriate Battlefield/EA team?

We would also appreciate reports from other Battlefield Hardline PC players. If your DLC is inaccessible, please reply here with your platform/storefront (EA App or Steam) and what you are experiencing. If anyone is still able to access DLC maps and DLC content normally, please let us know as well — so far, we have not been able to identify an unaffected player.

Thank you.

  • Hello all,

We are hearing back from the team that this is now resolved. Please check it out and let us know if your experience has improved.

    Thanks,
