Game disconnected: you were kicked from the game

I keep getting this message after playing the game for about 10-15 minutes or so.

"Game disconnected: you were kicked from the game"

I already tried all this:

  • Repaired the gmae via Origin 4 times
  • Reinstalled drivers 2x
  • Reinstalled Punkbuster Update 8+ times ?
  • Reinstalled Punkbuster service more than 10 times
  • Cleared all the cache drom the AppData and Temp folders that the EA tech told me to do then restarted the PC
  • Set "Run as Admin" to BF4.exe, BF4(86).exe and origin
  • Disabled Origin while in gameplay..

... NOTHING works!.! What else can I do please?

This all started like a day after I installed the last BAttlelog patch.

Sigh, this is so fruistrating.

  • Good news everyone. After trying everything that was suggested here I have finally found a solution to this problem or error. Something that countless Origin tech support crews or a specialit couldnt figure it out...so EA, take some notes as this might be useful.

After searching and searching for almost a week on the web for a solution. I found a specifc link to an old and hidden Battlelog forum Battlefield 3 page where a certain player on the last post of a quiet thread, he said that he did this:.. He deleted his "PROFSAVE" files from his BF3 installation folder. Of course I playing BF4 instead of BF3 was hesitant at first given it was advice for another version but since I had no other options I tried it and IT WORKED!

These are the files that need to be deleted.

(NOTE: Once deleted the game will replace them with fresh, default new ones when you start up a game)

    PROFSAVE

    PROFSAVE_header

    PROFSAVE_profile

These files ^ can be found in the "settings" folder in here:

    C:\Users\your PC Name\Documents\Battlefield 4\settings

Just remember that this resets your settings ingame so you will have to set them again... but worth the fix!

If you are not sure about deleting them you can always just "MOVE" these files to another folder for safe keeping and move them back if you feel that this fix will not fix it... It sure did for me...

    No more instant crashes

No more super slow loading of textures and sounds

No more invinsible infantry soldiers with floating guns

No more kill cam screen with missing gun details

    ...and more.

Try it and hope this helps whoever gets this error message in BF4 and even BF3.

Not sure  so don't quote me yet... but It looks like its Windows related or some bad hardware... again. it started small with BF4 but then it got worse and worse...I got BSOD' once with black screen intros then Windws 7  worked but now the whole windows explorer application, browser and online network freeze or hangs from time to time but all at the same time. Maybe this is what was causing the game to disconnect and slow loads? Maybe?

Used to be barley unnoticeable but now worse. I guess this happened after the last Windows Update. Seriously, those updates scare me sometimes.

NEVERMIND... It doesn't seem to be a Windows issue. Game is still disconnecting and kicking me . ;(

I tried everything from above plus:

    - cmd: sfc /scannow
    - checkdisk on boot
    - clean boot
    - Avast Scan
    - MalwareBytes Scan

Sigh. Anybody know where I can find a CHEAP non-OEM 8.1 Windows 8.1 Pro ?

  • I just buy the oem of win8.1 was about $100 in Canada this is what I did with two out of 3 of my PC's win 8.1 has tricks you can do to make it act like win 7 lol.. never make a Microsoft account make it local account and boot to desktop as well as remove all apps you can or never will use. And I stay away from the Microsoft store as I don't need nor want all the crap it brings.

With windows updates I only do important updates and will not allow windows any control in this area lol

To try and fix the BSOD do this again I will post my steps below with win 7 it may have to be done a few times with reboots after each one..

    Test your windows for errors
This works in all windows O/S vista Win7, Win8 and Win8.1 windows system file checker :] Copy and past this to note pad and put it on your desktop. As open programs can give you errors when you run this.

...... sfc /scannow ..... ever hear of it if not your going to love this .... it will inspect all the important windows files as well as the windows DLL files. If windows system file checker finds any issues with the windows files and windows DLL files it will replace them. This little tool as well as the event viewer saved me and fully helped me fix my BF4 issues as well as saved my .... many a format since I found it. This is the best toy they ever put in windows :]

For win7 go to start left click in search type cmd and right click cmd pick run as admin

For win 8.1 right click start bottom left of screen and pick command prompt admin

1 - Open administrator command prompt and close web pages and programs like origin.

2 - Type or copy and paste in sfc /scannow and hit enter, This takes 5 min to 15 min SSD vs HD

3 - This can go one of a few ways ..... no errors ... it fixed some errors ..... could not fix all errors...... does not finish checking and errors out ....... and the last one could not fix errors at all :/

4 -After its done reboot and do it again even if you had no errors the first time or had errors, could not fix ... run sfc /scannow again and when its done a second time reboot. You need to do this a and get no errors 2 x in a row ...

5- So if you ran it 2x and no errors your safe you can stop now for now lol, If you had errors first time but not the second then run sfc /scannow again and when its done reboot. You need to get could not find any errors 2 x to be safe. If it still finds errors try and run it a few more times until it finds no errors 2x AND ALWAYS REBOOT BETWEEN RUNNING sfc /scannow

6 - If you get a message indicating that it can not be repaired and you ran sfc /scannow more then 3x in a row on win vista or 7 mm you need a format or try repair win 7 :/ But after format or repair and all updates are done run sfc /scannow to make sure your windows is stable same deal 2x error free reboot between them.

If your O/S is Win8 or Win 8,1 then you can run this next command / line in administrator command prompt. Sadly this does not work for win vista or 7 :/ It will restore the health of your PC and you dont lose anything and it will also fix errors in the registry :]

    dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth ------- ONLY works for windows 8 and 8.1

7 - When its done reboot

Yeah forget what I have said. The Windows thing was a seperate issue which is now fixed. I have reinstalled BF4 and Origin and it is still kicking and disconnecting me. ☹️  Oh man, i really want to play BF4. ☹️

  • When you redid BF4 did you do this as well?

BF4 folder in my documents holds game configs and screen shots even if BF4 is installed on different drive. When you uninstall BF4 it does NOT remove this folder. So when you install the game again you can still have the same issues. Even if its not a new install it is still worth trying as the game cfg could be mucked up.

1- Go to my Documents and remove BF4 folder place it on your Desktop or trash.
2- Be warned you do have to set up your in game settings again.
    3-Repair BF4
4- When done go test your game. If it fails reboot your PC and run repair game again and test BF4.

    Try reinstalling your network drivers.

You said that you already reinstalled the graphic card drivers ?

I see. I must of thought it was something else given that there was no specific PC address. But none the less thanks!
