Game is grayed out

Can you provide a screenshot of what it looks like in origin?

I have the same issue... BF4 icon greyed out, PLAY button also greyed out.  Did the last patch screw this up?  Why only selective accounts effected? 

I have never had an issue prior to this and of course I log in for double XP weekend and find the game unable to open due to the greyed out status.

You don't need a screen shot... it is simply a greyed out icon amongst the other clickable game icons that I own listed in the origin games tab.  You right click it and the PLAY button is also greyed out.  Obviously the patch broke the link to the launch file or the save file or something.  Origin shows the game but doesn't think it is accessible. 

The only option I see is to completely uninstall this 25GB game, and reinstall it on the wing and a prayer that it works.  What will I lose in the process?

Certainly double XP will be over by then, but what else will change in terms of my achievements etc.  It is pathetic that I should have to do this frankly.

I have seen a pic posted of this once sadly I have no idea how or if he fixed it.:/ Most I can think of to try and help you out is to run..

CHKDSK utility will try and recover or fix any data or installation errors. This can take a few hrs. SSD vs HD

Well sorry you had to uninstall... The problem was it was syncing cloud data and having a hard go at it. To remedy this in the future, right-click the game in origin and click "cancel cloud sync".

I dont see an option when right clicking to "cancel cloud sync"

So the 254hrs of gameplay I put into my Sims4 is just gone, because I'll have to uninstall and install it all over again? 

Just happened to mee too when I did OS reinstall. I had backed up origin games folder and used this process of importing the games back to origin after fresh install of OS & origin client.

For some reason battlefield 4 didn't succefully "get imported" back to system and I also had the game grayed out.

What I did to fix was just made the import again for battlefield 4 and the second time worked like a charm.

So:

rename old battlefield 4 installation folder (ofc if the affected game is bf4).

- rename "C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 4" folder to "Backup bf4" folder or something else

- start origin and start download of the affected game ie. bf4

- close origin

- delete newly created folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 4"

- rename backed up bf4 folder back to original name "Backup bf4" to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 4"

- start origin and the download should automatically restart -> recognize everything is downloaded -> repair/resync the game to origin library

- hopefully enjoy not to have to download +50Gb of stuff by reinstalling the game completely

I found a better solution click edit launch options, change the language, change it back. it will validate all the files.
