Out of interest, how many game modes do people think there should there be? I enjoy the variety of different modes but too many may dilute the quality. As we know, trying to shoehorn different game modes onto the same maps don't always work and devs are highly unlikely to be designing game mode specific maps. A map that works great for CQ or Outpost, may not work for more linear modes like Breakthrough or Frontlines. Would people prefer Universal maps for all modes or fewer, mode specific, tailored maps? IE, 16 universal maps, or 4 modes each with 4 specific maps.

I don't really like specific maps to a mode because the effort it takes to make a map yet so few will play.- 5 years ago

I don't really like specific maps to a mode because the effort it takes to make a map yet so few will play.Not all very open large maps may be ideal for everything, but next to classic Conquest, hope we also will get modes like Rush, TDM and Obliteration. Really enjoy the intensity and that all players are more forced to focus and collaborate on and towards the same target.

I didn't even play BFV... Lol domination left out? I assumed that every game has TDM, or like domination. Since these are most basic modes of every FPS, almost every FPS has them... It was always nice having TDM, or like squad deathmatch in BF3 for a change! Yes BF is not primarily a TDM game, but there were always decent amounts of people playing it! As it was fun and having variety is always nice! BFV is kinda an outlier I think, as that game isn't just good! Hope there will be still TDM, or some fun small player mode! Because I feel rush is most popular game mode, or at least favorite mode of many peoples! But it is not popular (especially when games gets older) because it can be hosted sadly only on 32-64 player servers... Which will suck all fun out of the mode, since only camping and explosive spam... I couldn't replay metro ever, since there are only servers which host it for 64 players... I love 16-24, max. 32 players on some maps in rush mode! But there are no servers for it... Instead only servers you can find are: type of: 64 metro explosive spam camp only, which is boring AF to play every game... Once game is old it will lose a lot of value because of this! There are no good rush servers, you can't even pick map on which you want to play! I understand some people want slugfest. But when only rush you can play are 64 player servers, then it sucks! Rarely you can find even one 16-24 server... I would just limit rush to 32 players max, or based on a map! If it is a big map, then 64+ could be okay... Again I don't understand why 16-24 player map like Metro can be hosted on 64 server, it is annoying even on 32 players with explosive spam! Or even without it will start to feel crowded!
Also I feel problem of BF is that everyone does what they want. On conquest, or large servers. Maybe they should add experimental feature (you can host mode with) - "group spawn". So people spawn in waves. Like by 12 players. And so they can rush certain parts of map together! That would also be more interesting. Because on Conquest once part of map is captured: it is hard to retake it! Especially on some maps! And everyone sniper camps, or doing some random things... If people spawned in waves, maybe game would be more interesting! Or they could add instant spawn, but you have to come from main base whole distance... This could be used to take tanks out of base, which left idle many times, as no one wants to drive them across whole map! Or it could limit your equip to worse weapons, if you do that.
Also about RUSH (since they want to make game more EPIC):
I would like to see a map, where you can prepare defenses like: barbed wire, mg positions, sand bags... and commander could choose where players will spawn. So every game would be different!
About Conquest:
I feel map is too empty, there are only flags which no one cares about... Maybe there should be drops, which will spawn dynamically and give players: drones, or some bonus equipment. To make fighting focused more around map. I feel like people want to take mid and then once you have it, one side will get advantage. And nothing much will happen whole game, if one team is better! Or if they capture whole map, other team likely won't ever push back. Maybe if games were more dynamic and there was higher come back potential, it would be much better! Consider if one team gets dominated: giving them AC-130, instead of spawning this by capturing a flag... And it would spawn and patrol one flag for instance and people could parachute down from it and push enemy from back of the map...
Also right now there are no slug fest fights on Conquest! As everything is spread out. It is usually 1 tank vs tank, 1 plane vs 1 plane and you don't meet almost anyone on the map. And like couple people on flags. Imagine, if there was like city in the center and whole map would converge to that point sometimes per game, as if one flag got boosted, so it give points equal of 3 flags together for limited amount of time. People would have to actually push and defend and it would center forced to some part of map, which would be more interesting, than when everything is spread out...
LOL notice COD Cold War started to experiment with these custom modes, but they failed to make them work. Also BF Hardline, or BF1 pidgeons - no one played them, so that's why make DICE don't introduce new and interesting modes as much? But we don't need anything extra! BF excels at all out war and in like rush, or even domination! They could also add some experimental features so owners of private servers can tweak their servers to their liking! Imagine like no grinding, instead you unlock better weapons based on points on player/team gets. This had Crysis and it felt satisfying! Battlefield doesn't much touch game modes every time it comes out, which is kinda shame... Except in BF1 operations were cool and stuff... Or they could try to slow pace, or make group spawn feature on some modes. Or made objectives on Conquest so people do the same thing and aren't spread out on whole map...
