Have never been able to play Battlefield 3 multiplayer PS3 (Lost Connection to EA Servers)

I bought battlefield 3 (PS3 Premium Edition) months ago.

I had never played the demo

I have carefully forwarded all of the correct ports and have a Type 2 NAT Type

I can play a variety of other online games such as Call of Duty

I have deleted the game data and re-installed it

I have restarted my router.

I have never once been able to play online in Battlefield 3 and it is incredibly frustrating. Every time I try, I get the "Lost connection to EA Servers" and then the game freezes.
