Head to the Battlefield 4 installation folder, C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 4 by default, then find the _Installer folder. In _Installer, navigate into the VC folder, then into vc2012Update3, and finally redist. In redist, find both the x86 and x64 versions of VCredist.exe. Run and install both versions, and your game should now launch without error.

Hi omarrush, please check that your .NET is fully up to date. It may also help to run the DXSETUP.exe application in your BF4 install. You can find it here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 4\__Installer\directx\redist Also, as ever, please ensure that your graphic drivers are up to date. 🙂 Also, just out of curiousity, do you use Battlescreen much?

.Net is updated to the latest 4.5.1 versionyes i installed the DXSETUP.exe from ingame folderNo , i did not used Battlescreen.A new thing i have noticed , this fault also happen when i alt + tab the game.

Download the PBSetup (http://www.evenbalance.com/?page=pbsetup.php) click "add a game" select the "battlefield 4" and update.I managed to fix the error that way. Good luck.

Thanks for your suggestion, but have already tried all of that. Runs off ssd, so no defrag - TRIM is enabled. Have CCleaner, have uninstalled reinstalled. All Windows 7 64 bit files are up to date and Graphic Drivers are up to date. Anti-virus is Microsoft Security Essentials - can turn off but don't think this is the problem.

Again, it's to do with MS Visual Studio Dynamic Link Library. The dependencies for the code get broken when you run other programs, but I run the VCredistributable before playing. This should fix the problem as it should sets up the right dependencies for BF4. Still doesn't seem to work.

I think I may have fixed it!

I was forcing the game to run in X86 (32 Bit mode). I forgot I had specified this option in Origin. If you go to MY Games in Origin and click on BF4. Next to Launch Options, click edit. You can force it to run X86 or X64. [img]http://i.imgur.com/yyfVAir.png[/img]

Better to run it in X64 if you have a 64 Bit OS.

Scratch that, there is a newer update of visual studio 2012 redistributable that fixes some issues (I was still having crashes). You can download is here:

Run the vcredist_x64 before you play the game - this ensures the correct dll dependencies are set up.
If you have a 32 Bit OS, run the vcredist_x86 - (same link) - http://www.microsoft.com/en-au/download/details.aspx?id=30679
As long as you run the redistributable first that matches the correct mode that use, you should be good.
