High Ping only in BF1
Pretty much I only get high ping in BF1. I live in Australia, the servers are hosted in Sydney and normally I get 35ms to a Sydney server.
I have a fibre optic connection (100 down/40 up). I do no...
Oh dear,
started playing BF1 via Origin Access a week ago. Everything was fine, i was able to play the standard maps with an perfect ping between 30 and 50 on all server sizes (even the 64 ones).
A few day ago i started playing the single player campaign and after i finished it, i decided to buy BF1 Revolution with Premium etc... for 54€.
At the same moment i couldn't play any longer on the 64 player servers.
Now the 64 player server have always a ping from 120 - 200 every freaking minute a day. Hit detection is most of the time complete broken, i just join the servers to die.
With Origin Access and BF1 without any DLC i was able to play on any server with a nice ping. Now with all DLCs and Premium i get only a good ping on 32 or smaller servers? WTF?
I have more 20 different online game running fine without any connection or ping problems, it's just BF1 after i purchased the Revolution version....
Btw. Germany - Provider: German Telekom
On PC here. Wanted to jump in here and mention the same thing. I usually ran no higher than 60 ping (Canada Ab) on almost any server regardless if they were in the green or yellow (100+).
But recently (stopped playing the game for awhile), even if I join the 60 (green) ping servers, I get on and wow, I'm at a whopping 140 or more.
What happened? My new router (XR500 god bless this beauty) dramatically improved my gaming experience and connection to every other game I own (Doom, R6 Siege, Overwatch etc). But BF1 just chokes me to death. Hit markers are so out of whack.
I refuse to believe it's my connection. Various speedtests show me at 250+ down and 10 up with pings averaging easily at around 50 and jitters never higher than 1.5. Even bufferbloat tests show me at A+, A with only a dramatic spikes at the very start of the test and the upload spiking once or twice at the end of the test thus resulting in a lower score.
I switched to Google DNS which seems to help on average with everything, tried changing to various ones, I'm on static IP, only thing left to try is to plug my ethernet straight into the modem and we all know that's a * move.
Anyone else improve theirs through others means I may not be aware of?
